The Vertical Lift Module(VLM)is an enclosed shelf-based storage system designed to increase storage capacity at a small floor footprint. Operating on the¡®goods-to-person¡¯principle,the VLM increases productivity by delivering goods directly to an operator. These systems are modular and flexible in design.
How does the Vertical Lift Module work? It can be described as a very large container with two columns of stacked trays at the front and rear of the unit. Between these two columns there is an elevator that spans the entire columns. When operated, the selected tray will picked up by the elevator and brought to a pick-window where the operator just need to pick the desired articles.
Benefits of VLM *Maximum use of space in a minimal footprint(high density of storage) *Fast access to all stored goods for high picking productivity *Pick-to-light technology to increase picking accuracy *Safety features and ergonomic design *Intuitive user interfaces and easy to operate
Vertical Lift Modules work best in situations with: *Ceiling heights range from 3m to 15m *Highly variable sizes and weights of stored parts *Frequently changing inventory mix *Heavy items that require lifting assistance for the operator to safely handle
